AARST@NCA 2001 Pre-Conference CFP

NCA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA

Pre-conference date: Oct. 31, 2001
Submission deadline: June 1, 2000

The American Association for the Rhetoric of Science & Technology announces a call for papers for its Annual Pre-Conference on October 31, 2001 in Atlanta, GA. Following the success of last year’s pre-conference, we will hold a special session focusing on the issues of ‘informed consent’ in bio/medical research, as well as a session looking at the use of role-playing and performance study in the teaching of the rhetoric of science. Information regarding these sessions, and a call for respondents, will follow in the coming weeks. At this time, we welcome paper submissions for two panels on cutting edge work being done in the rhetoric of science. We are particularly interested in presentations that represent the breadth and depth of the field. New PhD’s and graduate students are particularly encouraged to submit their work. Interested presenters should submit a copy of their paper to Anand Rao by June 1, 2000. Electronic submissions are encouraged, and can be sent via e-mail as Word or RTF document attachments. Please note that a maximum of 15 minutes will be given for each presentation. All fields and sub-fields in the rhetoric of science are appropriate. Feel free to contact the organizer with any questions or
concerns.
